4th graders in Mrs. Staple’s science classes are kicking off their new unit, “Earth and Its Changing Features.”
To explore Earth’s landforms up close, students created their own 3-D maps of California! Using elevation maps as guides, they built raised landscapes and then designed map keys to color-code elevations and label major geographical features like the Sierra Nevada, Death Valley, and the Mojave Desert.
Their hands-on creations brought geography to life and helped them better understand the incredible features that shape our planet!
